SRI moves closer to the mainstream with CFA approved course 23-05-13
SRI is moving closer to the finance profession's mainstream with the launch of the US's first online course in SRI for financial professionals.
The short course, 'Fundamentals of Sustainable and Responsible Investment', will be offered as the first course of Center for Sustainable Investment Education, however US SIF a membership organisation for financial professionals in the area of sustainable investing in the US is responsible for launching both.
The course is backed by both Morgan Stanley and Bloomberg who have expressed their desire to help develop SRI, still a young and relatively small niche in the finance industry.
Professionals can expect to learn how to talk to clients about SRI, integrate SRI into a portfolio and the latest research on trends in SRI.
Supporters of SRI would be glad to know that the CFA Institute has approved the 'Fundamentals of Sustainable and Responsible Investment' for 3 continuous education hours worth of credit. The CFA Institute is the world’s leading professional body for investment professionals.
We look forward to SRI entering the CFA syllabus itself.
US SIF will be delivering a live version of the course for those attending its National Conference on 21st May in Chicago. |
